Recognising the tremendous creativity of kitchen gardens in schools and early childhood services of all sizes, the National Kitchen Garden Awards returned in 2025 with a bang! From before-school breakfast clubs, student-led compost initiatives or experimenting with the school kitchen with garden-grown veg, the National Kitchen Garden Awards provided an important stage to celebrate the inventive, community-driven ways educators and young Australians are using their kitchen garden to learn about health, wellbeing and sustainability.
The team at Tiger Corp are proud to see the Kitchen Garden Foundation grow with a whopping 490 entries this year. We happily donated the banner signage and the iconic red watering can custom awards for the event which will sit in the winning schools across Australia. Well done to everyone involved and we look forward to next year!
The entries painted a colourful picture of what kitchen and garden learning looks like across the nation, with sunflowers, marigolds, and lavender found in pollinator gardens across Australia.
Evolving uses for gardens were highlighted, with sensory gardens proving to provide an important space for regulation and reflection in schools and services.
